In our cosy bar we offer free use of the internet via our PC. Please feel free to make use of the free facilities in our bar and lounge.

In the Historic Victorian Albert Hotel the lounge bar and the dining room has a decorative wood finish preserving style of the past.

Not only was the Victorian Albert Hotel the Mayfair of Gloucester, in the Industrial Revolution the Albert Guest House, in the leisure area of The Albert Hotel, also includes another era of world history. That was the period of Roman times, when Gloucester was the capitol of England and was called Glevum.

The Albert Hotel has the original bricks of the roman wall that use to circulate the city of Glevum glassed cased in our historical dining area.

This exquisitely beautiful structure was built as a place of prayer to God and as a place of Christian pilgrimage. I hope that you will come and visit us in person and you will see it, too, as a pilgrimage. Prayers are continuously offered, either quietly in one of the chapels, by the candle stand or by joining our daily worship. Prayers have been offered here for over thirteen hundred years, now also through this website.

Gloucester Docks – Under 10 minute walk from The Albert Hotel.

Gloucester’s Historic Docks are steeped in over 200 years of history, with fifteen Victorian warehouses standing as proud guardians to Britain’s most inland port.

The National Waterways Museum -About a 15 min walk from The Albert Hotel.

We concentrate on providing fascinating ‘hands on’ displays covering a whole range of waterways related topics. Enter through a replica lock chamber, complete with running water, as exhibits, interactive computers and videos help give you a taste of what it was like to live and work on the waterways.
